Bangor City Ladies 0 v 0 Ardudwy Ladies

Bangor City Ladies faced local rivals Ardudwy this Saturday in the North Wales League. Bangor City have been on a winning streak, winning their last 3 league games, playing with a renewed vigour from previous seasons. Previous games against Ardudwy have always been closely fought and this match was to prove to be no exception. From the starting whistle both teams were determined to try and get that first elusive goal. However, some strong defending from both teams denied either team a chance to get on the score sheet. Katie Williams, Bangor’s keeper had a fantastic game and despite some exceptionally strong shots from Ardudwy, Williams denied them the opportunity to convert.

Bangor had many chances to score, especially in the second half, but were unable to successfully convert them. Amanda Smith, Bangor’s newest recruit, had a storming match in midfield, deftly switching the ball to the wings in an effort to try and break through Ardudwy’s defensive line.

The match was end to end style hockey, and both teams fought hard and dug in deep to the final whistle. The game ended in a 0-0 draw which was a fair result from an exhilarating game of hockey. Amanda Smith won player of the match for her tenacity in midfield. Bangor face first division Llanfaircaereinion next Saturday in the Welsh Shield. We also wish a speedy recovery to Iola, who ruptured her Achilles in Saturday’s match.
